K.H.M.H. Receives Medical Equipment from Taiwan
The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital today received a donation of fifty-seven medical instruments through the Global Medical Instruments Support and Service Program of Taiwan. Valued at a approximately hundred and twenty-three thousand Belize dollars, the equipments will be used in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the K.H.M.H. Handing over the donation was Taiwanese Ambassador Benjamin Ho.

“This donation is a response to a request from Misses Barrow on her recent trip to Taiwan for the donation of medical instruments and equipment to K.H.M.H. through our Global Medical Instruments Support and Service Program, we made this donation including surgery table, obstetric table, endoscope set…what you see here because as you know, Miss Kim dedicated herself to promoting the Karl Heusner and she has won broad acclamation home and abroad in Taiwan. So this donation is a response to the Belize people from Taiwan and also a gesture of friendship of Taiwan to Belizean people.”
Dr. Adrian Coye, C.E.O., K.H.M.H.
“It’s an assessment of what we are doing and see how future collaborations can happen. We are very excited about that aspect of it. The exchanges have happened and we see a future growth and friendship. The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital is the source of the donations that we have here today which is a mixture that will serve purposes within the hospital—not only in the pediatric ICU. In fact, I’ve told ambassador Ho that we couldn’t bring the operating theatre up here because it is already in use. But this is a noble gesture and it is a sign of greater things to come.”
