SARS induced visa restriction eased
It was never fully explained why the SARS virus should have barred citizens of India from entering Belize in the first place, but as of today that ban has been lifted. According to an update issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the only four territories whose citizens will not be issued visas to visit Belize due to health concerns are the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam. The ministry added that residents of those four areas, who have not been present there for the last month or so, could be granted visas upon confirmation of their not being exposed to SARS.
