K.H.M.H. ‘Poor a Blood;’ Suspend Elective Surgeries
If you have an elective surgery scheduled at the K.H.M.H. – they say it will not happen because all elective surgeries have been suspended due to the lack of blood products. In a release issued today the hospital advises the public that there’s an ongoing lack of blood products needed for elective and urgent surgeries. The hospital says, “For the past two and a half weeks, there has been a shortage of available blood due to a limited blood supply and restrictions imposed by the Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health.” The K.H.M.H. promises to return to regular schedule of surgical services as soon as the Blood Bank services are up and functioning.
