Ex-Diplomat Andy Wigmore Busted for Expired Diplomatic Vehicle Plates
A British-Belizean dual national who formerly held diplomatic status for Belize was pulled over by cops in London on January nineteenth. He was cited for using illegal diplomatic license plates and an expired diplomatic ID card. He was also suspected of driving without insurance. Fifty-one-year-old Andrew Wigmore was a trade and investment envoy for Belize in London until 2017, when he was terminated amid questions over a potential breach of a ban on diplomats engaging in political activity during the Brexit campaign, according to the Times of London. While Wigmore’s diplomatic appointment ended in 2017, he continued to use his diplomatic IDs. Police have seized the diplomatic documents, but according to Wigmore he will not be prosecuted. He told another newspaper that he was not aware that his plates had been decommissioned, and called it an embarrassing administrative error. A Foreign Office spokesman said, “Former diplomats would be treated by the police in exactly the same way as any other member of the public.” Wigmore is a member of the U.K. Independence Party and key ally of its former leader Nigel Farage. He serves as communications director for the Leave dot EU campaign, which helped win a referendum on Britain leaving the European Union in 2016. Wigmore has a Meritorious Service Award from the Government of Belize and represented the country in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the sport of shooting. He says he will be taking up another diplomatic posting in Washington, D.C. for Belize.
The UKIP party in the Uk is a party of racists. Why is this man representing Belize?
