Belizean Violinist Selected for Orchestra of the Americas European Tour

Professional violinist Cindy Burgos left the country today for a European Tour as part of the Orchestra of the Americas. Burgos, who has been playing the violin since she was twelve years old, is the only Belizean who was selected to experience the musical intimacy of playing before thousands of people in four different countries and as a part of an internationally recognized orchestra.  Burgos says it all comes with determination and hard work.

“Well this is the first time I am going to Europe for music. It is with the Orchestra of the Americas, formally the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. I am pretty excited. I am not sure what to expect but like all the other tours we have our residency in Poland where we will be practicing and rehearing with our conductors and guest performers. And then we move on the Ukraine, and then Germany and then finally in Scotland. This has been one of my dreams to fulfill myself as a professional violinist. This is one of the ways I can do that. I encourage my students as well that they can aspire for things like this because they reach a certain level and they do not know what else they can do with their music. I hope I am paving the way for them to have something else to express themselves with.”

The tour concludes on August ninth.
