Update on Baby Jaguars at CONCACAF Girls Championship
In football news, the Belize National Under-fifteen Female Selection is presently in Bradenton, Florida where it is representing the Jewel in the CONCACAF Girls Championship. The Baby Jaguars recorded their first victory earlier today against the Virgin Islands with a final score of four-nil. Prior to that match, the team had fallen to Saint Kitts and Nevis and Martinique, respectively. Despite those losses, the Football Federation of Belize has formally recognized eleven-year-old Khalydia Velasquez for setting a record for the country. She becomes the youngest player to score in an official-sanctioned FIFA international tournament.
