KHMH admits to mix-up with police re: case report

Story Picture
As police search for the two men who attacked Pineda, their job has been that much harder because hospital authorities did not inform them of the incident, and the victim died before he was interviewed. On that point, Chief Executive Officer Alvaro Rosado readily admits the hospital is to blame.

Alvaro Rosado

“We failed miserably, and we did…we are investigating that matter, that investigation is basically concluded. My understanding is that we have a doctor, who is working in accident and emergency, we have a nurse in charge, and what seems to have happened in this case, is that each one thought the other had made the report to the police. Steps we’ll take so far, is that we’ve decided that we will develop a policy which will include the protocol, which will specify who is responsible for reporting to the police. It is not only the policy that a report much be made, but it did not must specify who must do it. The protocol that we put in place will define the person who is responsible. We have not yet decided whether it is the nurse or the doctor.”

Anyone with information on the attack of Juan Pineda that took place on Tuesday, May seventh at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Cemetery Road near the Lord Ridge Cemetery, is asked to please contact the Police Department. Pineda is to be buried tomorrow in Ladyville. He is survived by his wife and two young children.
