An Update on Jamil Reyes’ Condition
Two weeks ago Jamil Reyes was shot in the head – and today the fifteen-year-old is still fighting for his life. His family says he needs an urgent surgery because the bullet lodged in his head has moved. According to his mother, the bullet was at the centre of the brain about two centimetres but it has shifted to the back about six centimetres. She says the doctors have warned that this is bad news for the teen and for him to get better he needs that operation. Reyes is now at home on medication. As we reported, he was shot while socializing with friends in Roaring Creek. He was badly beaten, shot in the head and buried in a shallow grave. He survived the ordeal and managed to make his way out of the hole and get help. Another teenager in the village, eighteen-year-old Aaron Hyde was charged with attempted murder in connection with this incident.
