M.H.A. fair to educate public about disorder

To put it mildly, mental health patients have always been misunderstood and readily dismissed by most of the Belizean society. This weekend, the Mental Health Association invites you to their first Mental Health “Lift Off” fair on Saturday. Through the event, the association hopes to publicise an area of the health care system that they believe has been neglected and sensitise the public to the needs of those with mental health problems. As part of the fair, one hundred balloons, each tagged with a serial number will be released. The person who brings in a tag from the furthest distance will win a prize. The fair gets underway at the B.T.L. Park from 3:00 to 6:00p.m.
