A Belizean is One of Four Men Murdered in Mexico
Twenty-seven-year-old Hakeem Arzu, a Belizean who relocated to Mexico with his wife, was one of four men who were tortured and killed in Playa del Carmen over the weekend. Arzu, who is originally from Punta Gorda, reportedly left home on Friday night and was not seen or heard from until the discovery of the bullet riddled and mutilated bodies in that Mexican municipality. According to Arzu’s uncle whom we spoke with by phone, he may have been in the company of his colleagues from work when they were fatally attacked. Ray Arzu recalls receiving a text message informing him of his nephew’s demise.
