“Those were the aerobics era. You use to watch those ladies you get tired watching them. The moves are repetitive and we call it today slow state cardio, S.S.C., but that does not cut it what the science and everything has proven is that we need to today is HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training. Specifically and when we do that we can make optimum use of the time we have.”
After years in the industry, Ed put together a program catering those who are crunched for time and seeking results. It’s called the Belize Fit Body Clinic Post Burn Workout Program. It includes a weekly meal plan and regular assessments and workouts four days a week – workouts that only require 30 minutes of your time.
“Most important in getting people to stick is delivering results. When they see results they get motivated they get fired up. We want people to love what they see and most important enjoy the workout. Our workout needs to be intense, fast, rhythmic and over! In other words short. The key is igniting something we call the after burn. When we hit that on the money then our body switches from burning sugar to burning fat. And we go into what we call the after burn effect.”
Ed’s promise to his clients is twice the results in half the time. He says that while traditional one-hour workout integrates rest time between exercises. His thirty minute programme is focused on intensity.
“We have what is called active rest. Which kind of brings the heart rate but doesn’t stop and which are specific movements that we utilize at different points when people’s heart rate is going through the roof and we bring in those moves to bring the heart rate down. But, we don’t want it to go all the way down cause then we shoot it back up again – through the roof – and this is what it takes to burn the fat. If you’re motivated then you’ll find the right workout that doesn’t waste time, but gets to the point.”
Fat burning aside, the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans does advise one hundred and fifty minutes of moderate intensity activity each week for optimal health. Ed hosts classes in Belize City on Mondays and Tuesdays at Marion Jones Stadium and Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Memorial Park. For more information contact Ed at www.belizefitbodyclinic.com
