Dengue cases rising in the Cayo and Stann Creek Districts
Dengue cases are still rising, but the increase is now being registered in the Cayo and Stann Creek Districts. The numbers have stabilized in the Orange Walk and Corozal Districts. This is according to new information release by the office of the Director of Health Services. It states on its Facebook page that, “current data up until week thirty indicates that the total number of dengue cases now stands at two thousand two hundred and seventy-two cases. Out of the total number, one thousand two hundred and thirty two were confirmed.” According to the report, the remaining numbers were diagnosed by clinical suspicion. It adds that the number of cases reported in the Belize and Toledo Districts have decreased. The ministry continues its surveillance and vector control efforts are also ongoing.
