Will Team Belize Get to Advance to Gold Cup?
Will the F.F.B. appeal the decision of the CONCACAF Disciplinary Committee? They have until September twenty-sixth to do so. But with losing three points, where does team Belize stand in the nation’s league? Are they any closer to getting to the Gold Cup? Marlon Kuylen says that all is not lost.
Marlon Kuylen, Senior Vice President, Football Federation of Belize
“It’s a forfeiture, you lose your three points by three goals.”
Duane Moody
“The F.F.B. is challenging this?”
Marlon Kuylen
“Well we are considering all the options that we have. We have three days. We got this on Monday, so we got until tomorrow to determine whether we will challenge it or not. I assume, going by the decision that came down from the disciplinary committee, it seems they took all our efforts into consideration.”

“With Belize losing those three points, what’s the effect on the team?”
Marlon Kuylen
“Well all is not lost. The regulation states that the first place teams in each group automatically advance to the Gold Cup. The second place teams also have an opportunity, but they will have to play more matches to get to the Gold Cup. So even if we place second in our group, we still have a chance to qualify for the Gold Cup.”
