During Thursday’s Ask the Experts session, Director of Health Services Doctor Marvin Manzanero also shared that new screening points are now in place around the country. He says that they have been preparing to identify and isolate patients who test positive for the virus.

“We are preparing the health teams across the country for an identification and isolation of a first case. All facilities, Corozal, Orange Walk, Belize City, San Ignacio, Belmopan, Independence, Dangriga, Punta Gorda and San Pedro, have now their screening area. Some facilities are actually doing, all those patients having flu-like symptoms are going to be handled separately from the regular patient flu. All facilities have identified an isolation area in case they need to keep somebody hospitalized, assuming that the patient is not going to progress. If they progress, then they will follow the normal flow of how patients are going to be channelled.”
