Lord Ashcroft COVID-19 Relief Fund Finances Mask Production Project of Rotary & Kolbe Foundation
Beginning this Friday, social gatherings of up to a hundred persons and other activities will be allowed as restrictions are further relaxed. The use of masks, however, during the COVID-19 pandemic, is required by law and remains much in place for the foreseeable future. As such, the Tailoring Section of the Prison’s Rehabilitation Programme is embarking on the production of twenty thousand reusable face masks. The initiative is by the Rotary Club of Belize and the Kolbe Foundation, which manages the Belize Central Prison. Sixty thousand dollars have been secured through the Lord Ashcroft COVID-19 Relief Fund to finance the project. The masks will be distributed free of cost throughout the country by the Rotary Club of Belize to the marginalized community. The donation was handed over by Lyndon Guiseppi Chairman of the Relief Fund to Felix Reyes and Francis Woods of the Rotary Club. Also present was Denise Godfrey of the Belize Bank.
