Said Musa to Received Minor Surgery Overseas

Right Honorable Said Musa is on the road to recovery. The Musa family is preparing to fly him out of the country for a minor procedure to rectify his throat. According to his son, Kareem Musa, the senior Musa is suffered a rare form of stroke but the good news is that the rate or recovery is high. The former Leader of the People’s United Party and current Fort George area representative suffered the stroke in early May, his attending doctors are now advising the Musa family to have him undergo the minor procedure.

“All around, he has made significant improvement. We didn’t explain this in the initial stages of this stroke, but what we later learnt is that it is a very rare form of stroke. I think only two percent of all strokes this one falls under and it has a very high rate of full recovery. So there is a very strong likelihood that he will make a full recovery, but it does come with its complications. He is having difficulty with swallowing, his swallowing muscle. And so we are contemplating and it is very likely that early next week, we will fly him out to get a minor procedure done to fix that issue because that appears to be the only hindrance at this time. So we want to address that because if you fix that then he can have complications with his lungs, liquid getting on his lungs. So that is something that we are addressing aggressively, especially since he is stable, alert, fully aware what is going on. Mentally, he is in excellent spirits.”
