130 COVID-19 Samples Being Processed
The Ministry of Health is on a massive contact tracing exercise across the country, following the troubling cases where persons are not able to determine where they were exposed and have had immense footprint prior to their diagnosis. Today, Doctor Marvin Manzanero gave an update on those samples that are in processing, following the testing conducted in the past few days.
Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services
“By the end of today, we should be processing one hundred and thirty samples. Not all of those samples are from contact tracing from Orange Walk. From Orange Walk there may be thirty samples linked to the case in orange Walk. The samples from San Pedro are about fifty and those are coming into Belize City today for extraction and processing. So, if their process will be very late today – tonight or tomorrow because that one hundred and thirty samples that are already at the lab pending to be processed that will take two cycles from the machine and I believe it is about forty samples coming from Corozal linked to the case in Corozal.”
