COVID-19 Hits San Pedro Cops!
In San Pedro, fourteen officers attached to the San Pedro Police Station are in isolation. Of those fourteen, five have tested positive for COVID-19; three of whom are on the island, while the other two are on the mainland. The remaining officers are exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Today, Officer in Command in San Pedro, Superintendent Chris Noble says that it is unclear from where or which cluster the officers contracted the virus. Noble says that the department has been providing as much support to the officers as is possible.
Supt. Christopher Noble, Officer in Charge, San Pedro Police
“We have five infected; three are on the island and two are off the island. They were symptomatic and they are now asymptomatic. I have nine more who presented flu symptoms; three presented flu symptoms today and we had six that presented over the weekend. We have isolated all officers.”

“How has this affected your man power and functionality to have nine officers taken out of your formation?”
Supt. Christopher Noble
“It doesn’t. The rule of thumb is very simple; you work eighty percent on and twenty percent off. It will affect us down the road if we have another fifteen or twenty officers down. However, I don’t see that happening because have put in place more rigidity to access to the station and impressing upon all officers to the wearing of masks. We have gotten temperature testers and so we do that at the door upon entry.”
