44 New COVID-19 Cases; 40 are from San Pedro!

Marvin Manzanero

There are a staggering forty-four new COVID-19 cases to report tonight; those are from samples processed today and separate from the thirty-three positive cases released on Tuesday night. That means that there were seventy-seven new cases of the virus in less than twenty-four hours.  These new figures drive the new number way up to two hundred and fifty-four cases for the country of which two hundred and twenty are active.  Forty of these new cases are in San Pedro. Those numbers were released a short while ago and Doctor Marvin Manzanero presented those numbers at the end of the Ask the Experts.

Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services

“There is one batch that has come out today. It is confirmed now that forty-four samples are positive; forty of those are in San Pedro. The remaining three are in Belize City and they are linked to San Pedro cases and only one of those is from a flu clinic in Belize City. So, out of the forty-four samples, out of a hundred and two that just came out, forty-three are at least linked to San Pedro. Forty are in the island of San Pedro; three are in Belize City linked to San Pedro identified cases and we had high suspicion of. There is only one that I have right now that came from a flu clinic that has no link whatsoever.”
