Jimenez says that her recent travel history includes San Pedro, Orange Walk and Belmopan. She says that she has no idea how or when she became infected.
Celina Jimenez, COVID-19 Patient
“I had a feeling…I was having symptoms because from the minutes requested to be tested that was on Saturday, they tested me. The symptoms got a little bit worse. The anxiety, sleepless night, fever. I know it was going to be positive. I just had a sore throat in the beginning. I didn’t have nothing much. But the mere fact is that my work had me going all over. I do land paper work so I went to Belmopan. I went to Belmopan every week to do some land papers. I also work with the re-registration and I did go to San Pedro, taking some people to register and I know that San Pedro had a high rate. So all of these things added together made me thing that I had a positive case. Three weeks ago, I made sure I had on my mask when I was there; my hand sanitizer, my alcohol. I was freaking out. I was extra careful so I don’t know where I got this from. My advice to the country is keep safe, keep sterilizing things, cleaning. COVID is real.”
So, up to news time, the number of cases has shot up to two hundred and ninety-six, of that amount two hundred and sixty-two are active cases. New results are expected later tonight and we will keep up posted when those are available.
