Police Officer: Many People in San Pedro Are Walking with the Virus

San Pedro is exploding with COVID-19 cases; there is a total of one hundred and thirty-two cases. This afternoon, one of the brave frontline officers, who has tested positive, appeared on Facebook to show that there is nothing to hide or be embarrassed about since the virus does not discriminate. The frontline officer is in isolation and complains of burning eyes. His sobering message to his colleagues and the public is to stay safe.

San Pedro Police Officer, COVID-19 Patient

“I just want to say be careful out there when you are patrolling. The corona is real. It is real and it is here. I don’t know if it is going anywhere. For me I only pain, burns in the eyes feel like pepper but when it comes to shortness of breath, those are no symptoms that I have. We have people out there that just feel that this is just a common cold that just comes and goes but to be honest a lot of people have coronavirus n the island but many of them don’t get test because it is not something that people post on videos that you have shortness of breath or you can’t breathe and people die from it. That is not coronavirus. Coronavirus that I am experiencing is lack of smell, you don’t taste anything. For me, I feel like I am fit to go to work, but I am just fooling myself and the people out there and my colleagues. Guys just be careful out there. You don’t know who have the virus. When you are paroling out there if you don’t need to approach nobody then don’t approach anybody because I am telling you it is real.”
