10 New COVID-19 Cases

Turning to the latest number in the coronavirus pandemic….Ten new COVID-19 infections were confirmed late this evening from a batch of seventy-eight samples. The new cases drive the number of infections to an all time high of three hundred and sixty-six cases, of which three hundred and thirty two are active. This places Belize among the top countries in the Caribbean with infections.  During an episode of Ask the Experts, Director of Health Services, Doctor Marvin Manzanero shared the latest results to say that eight cases are from Orange Walk and Corozal.

“The preliminary data we have for today, the first batch of samples has come out. It is ten out of seventy-eight samples; ten positives that we have so far. There is another batch that is currently being processed. Out of these ten samples, eight are from Orange Walk and two are from Corozal. Out of those ten, eight of those would have a link to previously established cases and two would not seem to have any link to any case, as far as we have been able to ascertain with today’s data.”
