Patient 12 Died of a Heart Attack, Due to COVID-19

David Wall

The twelfth person to die from COVID-19 was a man from the Mennonite community in Indian Creek Village, Orange Walk.  Sixty-year-old David Wall began to experience breathing problems before he was transported to a private facility in Belize City. His breathing problems worsened and he died on Thursday. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 posthumously, but he was in quarantine before his demise. When his condition worsened, he was rushed to Belize City where he suffered a heart attack. The Orange Walk District now accounts for the highest number of patients and victims. News Five spoke to Wilhelm Harder who knew Wall. Harder says it is not known how or when Wall became infected.

On the Phone: Wilhelm Harder, Friend of Deceased

“There was family who attended to him when he started to feel bad. They could not control him at his home and when they felt that they cannot control him at his home, they took him to Belize City. In Belize, insofar they told me, the doctor came to take him from the car and heard nothing from him. We used to receive a call that we heard that he started to be better and after that we heard that he had a heart attack.”

“Do you know whether or not he had an underlying condition, maybe he had heart problems?”

“Insofar as we know, he had no problem.”

“Was he showing signs and symptoms? Was he coughing a lot? Did he have breathing problems, you know sneezing a lot?”

“Was he a big guy like overweight or big?”

On the Phone: Wilhelm Harder

“Yes he was a little overweight. I say over weight but yes he was a little bit fat.”

“Is there any concern that he may have infected his family or do you know if any other family members have been infected?”

On the Phone: Wilhelm Harder

“We don’t believe because he was separated. When he started to feel bad they did not allow other because they were trying to keep him alone.  Insofar as I know there was one family guy who attended to him.”
