8 New Cases of COVID-19; 33 More Recovered Patients
One of the lowest numbers of new COVID-19 cases was recorded on Wednesday. Despite some delays, one hundred and thirty-three samples were processed and of that batch only eight positive cases were identified. The breakdown is as follows: one each was recorded in Concepcion Village in the north, San Ignacio in the west and San Roman Village in the south. The remaining five cases were identified in the Belize District – two each in San Pedro and Caye Caulker and one in the city. An additional thirty-three patients have recovered from the virus and the number of active cases has declined to fifty-three point five percent or eight hundred and twenty-one persons. The Office of the Director of Health Services in its daily update says that an ongoing community effort is required in order to flatten this curve.
