Was B.T.I.A.’s Letter Discussed at Today’s N.O.C. Meeting?
The National Oversight Committee met earlier today to discuss the reopening of the international airport. The three-page letter was forwarded to several tourism officials who also sit on the N.O.C., however, according to Burgos, they are not certain whether any focus was placed on the letter or the recommendations.
John Burgos, Executive Director, B.T.I.A.
“Unfortunately, we don’t, the meeting was held this morning with the National Oversight Committee and I know that our official letter should have been presented officially and discussed. We sent on Monday to all the relevant authorities, from government and the National Oversight Committee. So they should have held a discussion, I think we‘re going to have to wait and see if the PM or the Attorney Gneral will make any press conference and state what are going to be some of the measures. We‘re waiting to hear if any of the SI and so on are going to be revised or any of the current protocols are going to be revised. We want to hear, well we‘re hoping to get a response from them. So I‘m going to be following up on that to see what they have to say about our recommendations, if there are any considerations that are going to be made to implement any of them.”
