COVID-19: 1,123 Active Cases
Turning to the overall COVID numbers…on Thursday night, we reported on the record number of samples processed at the Central Medical Lab – a total of four hundred and thirty-seven tests. As we told you, fifty-eight of those were confirmed to be positive for COVID-19. Tonight, we share a breakdown of that number. Eleven are from the Corozal district. Of that number, five are from Corozal Town, two in Carolina Village, one in Santa Clara, one in Caledonia, one in San Andres and one in San Joaquin. Nineteen are from Orange Walk. Nine of those patients reside in the Town; four from San Jose, two from Trial Farm, one from San Pablo, one from San Estevan, one from San Felipe, one from San Roman Coroza, but swabbed at the Northern Regional Hospital. In the Belize district there were five positive cases. Two are from Belize City; one in San Pedro, one in Hattieville and one from San Felipe but was swabbed in the city. The Cayo District recorded ten cases; two of whom are from Belmopan, one from Roaring Creek, two in San Ignacio, one in Santa Elena, two in Camp Belizario Central Farm, one in Blackman Eddy and one in Bullet Tree Falls. And Stann Creek recorded thirteen patients; seven in Georgetown, two in Cowpen, one in Hopkins, three from Bella Vista but were swabbed in Independence. There were seventy recovered persons. For now our active cases stand at one thousand one hundred and twenty-three; with five hundred and fifteen females and six hundred and eight males.
