One Person Tests COVID-19 Positive after Baby Shower in Guinea Grass Village

Chester Williams

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams today confirmed that one person tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a baby shower in Guinea Grass Village. Twenty-three persons were arrested at that party for participating in a restricted social event. The fear was that COVID cases would increase if large groups congregate and that is exactly what happened in Guinea Grass says Williams.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“We just want the cooperation of the people to ensure that we do what we need to be done. We saw over the weekend for example the baby shower that was being held in Guinea Grass where the police had arrested twenty three persons. We have now been informed that one of the persons from that baby shower has not tested positive for COVID-19. So you see the work that we must do. The Ministry of Health will now have to go get all those persons and swab them and may have to go into quarantine. The police officers who dealt with them will also need to be swabbed and perhaps go quarantine. So that is how the virus is spread from one person and then many others can be infected so please again let us, our people work with us. Avoid these large gatherings, avoid these social gatherings. If we can do that we can stay a decrease in the amount of this disease. Yes we are going to work in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Elections and Boundaries Commission with a view to ensure that we minimize the spread of the virus as much as we can.”
