COVID-19 Numbers; 63 Active Cases
Fourteen new COVID-19 cases were confirmed over the weekend, between May eighth and tenth, the majority within Belize City, one in San Pedro, two each in Belmopan and San Ignacio and one in Bella Vista in the Toledo District. That puts the total number of active cases at sixty-three. Since the pandemic hit, three hundred and twenty-three persons have died from complications associated with COVID-19. The countries overall positivity rate is at eleven point two percent. While there are sixteen cases under investigation, there is one person hospitalized.

“From what I understand there is currently one admission, but not intensive care. We haven’t had serious admissions. I think the last I.C.U. admission; if you give me a little chance, I can get back to you on that because I do have my data in that regard. But I must tell you that we haven’t had any recent I.C.U. admission due to COVID.”
