COVID-19 Numbers Go Up; 120 Active Cases

Those additional cases have pushed the country over the hundred mark once again.  For weeks now, the number of active cases has been low, despite several clusters popping up here and there in schools and at the Princess Casino.  But with an additional thirty-eight new cases identified over the weekend, the country now has one hundred and twenty active cases; interestingly, this time around the majority are female. But what is even more concerning for the Minister of Health and Wellness is that a number of students and teachers have tested positive.

Michel Chebat, Minister of Health & Wellness

“Yesterday we had thirty-eight new cases reported with the majority of them coming out of the Stann Creek district. Right now we have one person in our I.C.U. and we have four other persons hospitalized. I think what we’ve seen over the past week is a spike in numbers and what is especially concerning for us Marleni is that we are seeing this among students and teachers. And this is of great concern for us.”
