M.O.H.W. Launches Vaccination Drive

With less than thirty thousand Belizeans fully vaccinated, the Ministry of Health and Wellness has stepped up its vaccination efforts today, launching a vaccine campaign under the slogan “Before You Relax, Get Vax!”  It’s a multimedia campaign underpinned by an educational awareness component to encourage Belizeans to get vaccinated.  Today, the vaccine drive was launched at the Belize Biltmore Plaza.  C.E.O. in the Ministry of Health and Wellness discussed the need for the campaign.

“So, through health education we are not only focusing only on the vaccine itself but also promoting the use of masks, the use of sanitizers and the proper hand wash and the disposal of the masks. Expanding and creating access to testing, it is no longer you coming to the hospital, it is us coming to you in the communities; we are going to be there once you have the symptoms and been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed positive; access to testing, PCR testing and rapid testing by doing all these actions we are confident that with your participation we will comply with the seventy percent coverage; specific activities apart from the health education is the distribution of masks, the distribution of sanitizers countrywide; testing that we are bringing through the assistance of the mobile teams to promote testing.”
