UK Vaccines Coming

The Government of the United Kingdom has announced a donation of forty-two thousand doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to the people of Belize.  This donation comes as part of the wider pledge by the UK government to donate one hundred million excess COVID-19 vaccines to developing countries.   According to a release from the Government Press Office, Foreign Minister Eamon Courtenay and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize worked with representatives of the UK government, including UK Minister of State for the Commonwealth, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, and British High Commissioner Claire Evans and her team to secure the necessary doses of the vaccine for Belize. These vaccines will be utilized as part of Belize’s ongoing national vaccination rollout.  Details are pending on the arrival date.
