85% of Faculty and Staff at Sacred Heart Vaccinated

Eighty-five percent of the faculty and staff at Sacred Heart are vaccinated, including support staff.  The Ministry of Health and Wellness carried out a vaccination session at the school and President Smith-Carballo says that, despite reluctance in some members of staff, they are safe to reopen.

“Eighty-five percent have gotten their first dose and maybe about sixty percent have gotten their second dose. When it comes to our support staff which is about thirty of them, only one of them have not received the vaccine. So basically our support staff have been fully vaccinated with the first dose and I must say thanks to Minister Chebat and the M.O.H. and our nurses who graciously came to our campus to assist with the vaccination of our staff. So we should be having more teachers getting their vaccinations. We have asked all teachers to email to us their vaccinations cards so that we can have exactly how many of our faculty still have their vaccines pending. But from what I have seen it is very minimal. We do have maybe about four or five members of staff who are a little reluctant and I guess they have their personal reasons for doing it, but I am still hoping that we would be able to achieve the hundred percent at some point in time.”

As of August third, one hundred and thirty-four thousand five hundred and eighty-three persons have received a first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine while fifty-two thousand two hundred and thirty persons have been fully vaccinated.
