No More Indoor Dining, Closed Casinos and No Face-to-Face School among B.M.D.A. Recommendations to G.O.B.

Other recommendations by the B.M.D.A. include no more indoor dining, closing all bars and casinos, strict monitoring of public transport, working from home where possible and no face-to-face school until vaccinations for children are available.  Doctor Wright says that while their recommendations were just tabled today in the public domain in the form of a press release, the B.M.D.A. has also moved to present them to the government.  While the B.M.D.A. has these recommendations for the government, it also has one for the public.

“We see that persons that are vaccinated transmit the virus fifty percent less than a person that is unvaccinated. So with the Delta we also see transmission from vaccinated persons. However, the duration of time that they can transmit the disease is far less than that of an unvaccinated person.”

The recommendations come two days after the cabinet met to discuss its position on the COVID regulations in Belize. When News Five spoke with Cabinet Secretary this evening, he said that his office has not yet received the recommendation.
