No Face-to-Face Classes When School Resumes

There was disappointing news for children this weekend when the Ministry of Education announced on Sunday that due to the rise in COVID cases, they would not be allowing face-to-face classes to resume in the next few days. Instead, remote learning will be in place once more for all government and grant-aided schools. This has dashed the hopes of both the students, their families and teachers who were looking forward to a return to some normalcy in the coming weeks. But the M.O.E. says the decision is based on recommendations from the Ministry of Health and Wellness and that face-to-face instruction will begin when it is deemed safe to transition into hybrid learning. News Five contacted the C.E.O. in the Ministry of Education, Dian Mejia who was in meetings all day today, but she promised to have more for us tomorrow. Secondary schools were to resume in person on the twenty-third and primary and pre-primary on August thirtieth.
