Nurses Had Planned Walk Out if Dr. Tewes Became C.E.O.
On Thursday we heard from Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat, that veterinarian Doctor Michael Tewes had been chosen as the new C.E.O. of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. But just a few hours later, the K.H.M.H. issued a statement saying the post had not been filled. So we checked today to find out what could have led the Board of Directors to rescind their decision and so quickly. Tewes’ appointment lasted for less than a day. Our sources at the hospital told us the appointment was met with fierce opposition and that there was even a walk-out planned among the nursing staff if Tewes’ appointment was confirmed. However, we could not get any official comment from the hospital on the matter.
