Get a Jab; You Might Win You a Bike!
Today, one of the schools with the highest vaccination turnout, Belize High School, reached out to students from other schools, particularly those from Southside, urging them to come out and get vaccinated this week. Principal Jamie Usher says BHS students came up with a special initiative that will see two lucky winners walking away with something to help them get back to in-person school in October.

“My students definitely appreciated the value of our statistics, but when the country news came out that the statistics were low, they came back to the drawing board and said “Miss, how can we help?” And so we totally appreciated their student perspective that it is not just about our school. And so what we wanted to announce today is that we will be raffling two bicycles over at the Swift Hall Vaccine Center. Anybody who comes in will get a raffle ticket, starting tomorrow; will get a free raffle ticket. And then next week Friday, the twenty-fourth of September, we will raffle these two bicycles just as an incentive to getting the vaccine and to be able to come back to school for October.”
