Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa, Deputy Regional Health Manager, Central Health Region
“We do have a significant outbreak that is centered in the Belize City area so that has caused us some issues. We have to try to control the outbreak – that is really a lot of our priority to try to control the spread and at the same time, ensuring that people are getting vaccinated. So we have many sites available, we are also going back into businesses to do the second dose, Astra. And this is very important, if you’ve gotten only one dose of Astra, you are not fully vaccinated. You need to get the two doses. All the data is based on two doses of Astra fourteen days after the second dose.”
A call is made for anyone who is due their second dose to visit the nearest vaccination center in an effort to control the spread that’s occurring in Belize City.
