PM and Delegation Continue Visit in Mexico
The Prime Minister John Briceno is currently in Mexico on a state visit at the invitation of the President of Mexico. Today, he PM and his wife Rossana accompanied President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and his wife Beatriz Gutierrez Muller at the closing ceremonies of the Mexico’s two hundredth Anniversary of Independence. On Wednesday, the Belize delegation met with Banco de Mexico to discuss payment systems and banking relations between Belize and Mexico. On Tuesday evening, PM Briceno spoke with executive members of one of the private sector associations in Mexico. According to the Prime Minister’s Facebook page, the meeting yielded fruitful discussions on trade and investment focusing on the priority areas that the Government of Belize has identified. The impending trade agreement with Mexico was discussed at length. And on Tuesday, Special Envoy for Families and Children, Rosana Briceno meets with Licenciada Maria del Rocio Garcia Perez – Director for the Development of Families and Children of Mexico to strategize for the safety, stability and improved quality of life for our families and children.
