Ministry of Health & Wellness Advertises Vacancies in the Embattled Department
There is a vacuum being left in the wake of Doctor Deysi Mendez’s sudden departure as Chief Executive Officer at the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Her stint as C.E.O. comes to an end on Friday and the Briceño administration will have to name a successor in the days ahead. But there are also several other vacancies in the embattled ministry where a Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health, a Director of International Health Cooperation and a Deputy Director of Public Health and Wellness are being sought. On Wednesday, Prime Minister John Briceño confirmed that C.E.O. Mendez has been terminated from her post after constantly bucking heads with Health Minister Michel Chebat. The latest spat came when she was restricted from authorizing any financial transactions exceeding three thousand, five hundred dollars without the expressed consent of her political boss. That resulted in another locking of horns that ultimately led to her removal.
