Strict Safety Measures Introduced At Borders
…and while you may be concerned about the numbers shooting up again when the land borders are reopened, Doctor Musa said that very strict protocols are being introduced at those facilities.
Dr. Melissa Diaz-Musa, Deputy Regional Health Manager, Central Health Region
“I think that the way that the way that we are moving forward is very much the safest way that we should open the borders. We have included improving on surveillance at the borders; we’ve included the importance of being vaccinated prior to crossing the borders. And we’re starting to open the borders in phases, you might say, because at this time we have a set schedule of six a.m., to ten p.m., and we have certain criteria that must be met in order to cross over the borders, so we are contented at this point. And yes, the situation remains very fluid. We know that numbers may go up and down, depending on the circumstance but with us educating our population and ensuring that we continue to take our precautions, you don’t let your guard down, we are hopeful that we will be successful.”
