B.T.B. Assists Ministry of Health with Equipment

The Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations handed over a set of office equipment to the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Central Health Region. Today, a ceremony was held at the Belize Tourism Board headquarters in Belize City where we heard how the equipment will be put to use.

“This donation today by the B.T.B. will go a very long way. As you know, when we are out in the field doing swabbing, many a time people want to get their results earlier. Access to the data needs to be synced to our B.H.I.S. system. This will just complement more to the work we are doing on the ground.”

“For the last two years or so the Ministry of Health and now Ministry of Health and Wellness have been under relentless pressure from COVID and they have done a hell of a job in trying to ensure that we are safe in Belize and our visitors to our shores are safe. This is just a token of our appreciation, and it follows two weeks or so, we donated almost fifty thousand dollars worth of equipment and material that we got through Diaspora Relations.”

“We have tried to set up and be more accessible to the general public, and this will help us with that, especially with regards to when we have popup swabbing areas, depending on where the pandemic is, what the numbers are we enhance our surveillance. This will help us to have access to the Belize Health informatics System right then and there, printing out results. Many times we have to carry a lot of printing paper and do manual writing. This will eliminate that. So, it really adds to the efficiency and how effective we are at our sites.”
