Payment Plans Possible from Patients with Outstanding Bills
Cansino explained that people with high hospital bills with the K.H.M.H. can work out payment plans to cover their debts. She said that a lot of times, patients’ bills are high not only because of the P.P.E. outfits that are required to be worn by the medical staff but also because many of the patients require intensive care.

“It’s not only the PPE fee that raises hospital bills; it’s the fact that most of those patients need intensive care and that intensive care is certainly more costly than non-intensive care. So that’s one of the other reasons that bills would be higher than a regular hospital bill. We are currently doing whatever we can to collect outstanding bills. We are prepared to accept payment plans from persons. So we will have to sit and evaluate that. We are not in the process of seeing well, these persons can pay and these persons can’t pay yet. We are still in the process of moving forward, trying to collect outstanding bills so the hospital can function. And we will have to cross that bridge when we get to it, Marion, if it will have to be a request perhaps to the Ministry of Health to assist in covering some of the expenses then that is what we will have to do.”
