Oscar Quiroz, Cycling Athlete
“To undergo or to actually be granted such an opportunity, I have to say off the bat that it is a dream come true. It is a dream that become reality all of a sudden and I aspire to do many great things, but you just never know when it will happen. To actually be performing and getting those impressive results in the past years, I think it is a huge milestone to be jumping the ranks into the professional league. I know many Belizean cyclists as well as athletes look forward to such a wonderful achievement. It gives you a great feeling inside of accomplishment deep down and it kinda just makes you feel that your work didn’t go unseen. I am kinda privileged that these guys actually saw this in me, in terms of my attitude, obviously my talent and of course, what I have to bring to the table. And so I think Justin was, I have to say a huge thank you to Justin. He has been looking up for me from ever since; it’s been years, hence the reason I brought up that story. It was like five or six years ago. At that time I wasn’t really shining, per say, but I was very consistent and I kept believing.”
