Councillor Micah Goodin Studying Overseas, but Making Caucus Meetings
Councillor Micah Goodin is away studying at law school. His stint as deputy mayor was short-lived, following a shooting incident in which a shadow youth councillor was injured. So who takes over Goodin’s portfolio at the council? Mayor Wagner says that he has been attending the council’s caucus meetings virtually and that the technical team within his portfolio is dealing with the operations on the ground.
Bernard Wagner, Belize City Mayor
“He is doing well. We congratulate Councillor Goodin. He has been participating in all our caucuses, so we congratulate him and we wish him well. I do believe that all Belizeans should wish a brother well.”

“And his responsibilities? Have those been delegated to another councillor?”
Bernard Wagner
“Again, the councillors, when you talk about portfolios do not do day-to-day administration of those portfolios; they have managers. They are at the policy level, so participating in the caucus should be able to get the deliverables you want.”
