Miss Universe Belize Let’s Her Light Burn for Belize at 71st Miss Universe Competition
Miss Universe Belize Ashley Lightburn is set to take the stage at the Seventy-first Miss Universe preliminary competition on Wednesday, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lightburn has been with the Miss Universe delegates all week attending a number of events. And, today she engaged in what is perhaps one of the most important aspects of the competition, her personal interview with the panel of judges. To learn more about how the competition is going and what Miss Universe Belize’s experience has been so far, we spoke with Jenelli Frazer, a former Miss Universe Belize and the current Miss Universe Belize’s Chaperone. Here is what she told us.
Jenelli Frazer, Miss Universe Belize Chaperone
“Ashley is very competitive if you guys may not know. She is very small but she is very, very competitive. She is very head strong and I think when you are in an environment where a majority of these girls are winners, they have won their pageant in their country. So, you have to go with the mind frame that it is a competition. I am competing against winners just like myself. And, she has that competitive drive about her, should. Also, she is the only mathematician, I am a pageant fan and I do not recall ever hearing a mathematician advocating for math and so that in itself stands out for her and I am hoping she uses it to her advantage and we can finally get the placement we deserve. They have been going to a lot of events. Today was one of the most important days for her. It was her personal interview where she talked about her bio and how she stands apart from the other women. Tomorrow is the preliminary competition. This is where they will showcase their dresses and their swimsuit and combine with the points from preliminary and interview will determine who will make the top sixteen on January fourteenth.”
