CNN Travel: Belize among the Best Destinations to Visit in 2023

Despite the “black eye,” associated with the tragedy, last week, C.N.N. Travel listed Belize among the top twenty-three destinations to visit this year. It speaks to the ease of travelling to the Jewel and tourists being able to experience both marine and terrestrial attractions. The article reads, “Lush rainforests, cave networks, winding rivers and rich Mayan archaeological sites invite exploration in a country that’s had an evolving sustainable tourism master plan since 2012.” C.E.O. in the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations says that the recognition comes as no surprise to the industry.

“Are you surprised that Belize is one of the top destinations, I am not surprised at all. Belize continues to be a hot destination, everybody wants to travel here. There is a lot of buzz. A lot of the reason for that is when people come they enjoy themselves so much and they go back and they talk to their friends. It’s not enough for us to say it is good. When the tourist and the guests and the visitors come they have to experience that and be able to communicate that and that is how we get these kinds of recognitions.”
