Belmopan Mayor Takes Part in Series of Official Events in the U.S.

Belmopan Mayor, Sheran Palacio, left Belize today to take part in a series of events in the United States. Mayor Palacio will take part in an Earth Day Summit at Miami University, followed by a panel discussion with Mayor Daniela Levine Cava of Miami Dade. Next week, the mayor will attend the first ever Cities of the Americas Summit in Denver, Colorado to promote regional cooperation. That event will have in attendance municipal leaders and representatives of non-government and other organizations from across the entire Western Hemisphere. To culminate her trip, Mayor Palacio will take part in several roundtable sessions and discussions. During her absence, Belmopan’s Deputy Mayor, Sanie Cal, will act as Mayor and Hope Amadi as Deputy Mayor.
