Belize Participates in Regional Workshop on Migrant Workers Rights

Chief Executive Officer Valentino Shal, of the Ministry of Labor and Local Government, led a delegation to Panama City where they attended a regional workshop hosted by the Regional Conference on Migration and the International Organization for Migration.  The conference focused on the exchange of experiences regarding migrant workers, domestic and agricultural work, and circular migration.  While at the workshop, Belizean delegates met with representatives of the Costa Rican and Panamanian governments to exchange strategies and engage in productive discussions on best practices such as the Labor Migratory Traceability System.
