KHMH financial audit complete
And the Commission of Inquiry of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital is about to get underway. The audit report of the K.H.M.H. financial books for the period between the first of January 2007 and the thirtieth of June 2009, has been submitted to Prime Minister Dean Barrow. The commission of inquiry is chaired by Supreme Court Justice Adolph Lucas and the two other commissioners are former Auditor General Orvin Nicholas and Nurse Julia Castillo. The PM empowered the commission to investigate the procedures used in the procurement of medical supplies for the hospital. There was a public outcry for the investigation when it was revealed that there was a huge gap in prices of medical supplies bought from different suppliers. The commissioners will determine if there were any wrongdoing and recommend charges against any individual if necessary.
