Health Fair will offer free medical attention in Corozal
And with more Belizeans in need of free medical services, the governments of Belize and Mexico have agreed to hold a second health fair this year, this time in the Corozal District. A release form the Mexican Embassy says that at the upcoming two-day fair, Mexican and Belizean medical personnel will provide free check-ups in a wide range of areas and will sensitize the public on the dangers of common problems in obesity, diabetes, and reproductive health. An agreement on the health fair was reached between the Minister of Health, Pablo Marin and the Secretary of Health of Quintana Roo, Dr. Manuel Jesus Aguilar-Ortega, who met yesterday. The first health fair was held this past July in Belmopan, and two thousand five hundred people attended. The second fair is expected to attract a larger number of persons and is scheduled for November twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth in Belmopan.
